    Full Job description:

    We are a boutique international law firm, long standing and prominent in Asia. We are looking for recent graduates, who have taken and passed their bar exams, or at least have intention of taking the Bar Examination, to work as interns in one of our Asian offices. Internship’s are for a minimum of nine months. We will provide costs of air transportation to and from Asia, and a very modest stipend covering housing costs, and living costs, plus an incentive program. The intern may become an associate after 9 months. Our first interest is our Chengdu Office, our second interest is for interns for our Guangzhou and Beijing Offices, on similar terms and conditions.

    Duties

    1. legal researching on US and foreign law, competence in LexisNexis;

    2. contract drafting;

    3. revising drafts;

    4. due diligence work;

    5. establish new corporations, joint ventures;

    6. M & A;

    7. corporate finance;

    8 .banking;

    9. securities work;

    10. case management; 

    11. briefing, motion drafting; 

    12. completing discovery requests and responses to discovery;

    13.prepare for hearings, trials; 

    14. investigate and fact-check information; 

    15. communicate with clients; 

    16. reviewing case documents, evidence, etc; and

    17.client development work.

    Requirements: 

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation and legal reasoning skills.

    Good skills for client development work.

    Foreign languages useful but not essential, including Chinese, Mongolian, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish and Hebrew.

    Our intern positions do not involve payment of salary, but only a modest stipend that will cover your housing costs and living expense in Asia. A bonus may be given to you from time to time depending on your performance and contribution. You can earn additional money by client development work.
